Welcome to our Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
We’re done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday we’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now we feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning Kim is reading:
Kate here– I’m pretty sure this is 100% Kim’s face right now. According to Goodreads, Kim isn’t reading anything at the moment, and usually Kim is super on top of Goodreads shelving. I also know that she is busy grading and working and probably has no time for reading. Hang in there, Kim, the holidays will be here soon!
This morning Kate is reading:
Brownies and Broomsticks (A Magical Bakery Mystery #1) by Bailey Cates
Usually first books in a cozy mystery can be rough reading for me, but I’m really enjoying this one already! I like a good cozy mystery, but usually I end up liking the side characters and the town far more than I do the main characters, but in this case I really like Katie Lightfoot. Which is a good thing, because I found this series through my Litsy friends, so I took a chance and order the first 3 books through my bookstore. Paperback cozies are still pretty affordable, thankfully, so what I paid for 3 is less than a full sized paperback trade book would be.
So, October has been super busy for me. I was hoping to do all the blog things, all the reading things, and all the October things… but I’m working way more than I had planned and I just don’t have much free time. And the few days I’ve had off this month have been booked up with errands and activities. November will be much of the same. Thankfully, I love my jobs and I love all the stuff I’ve gotten to do by sacrificing any free time… but I’m starting to feel like someone shoved two huge Energizer batteries into my back and I just keep going and going and going… A time may come when I can’t be this active, so I’m just going to be grateful that I can (sort of) handle it right now.
All that was my long-winded way of saying that I haven’t had time for blogging. All the fun Bloggers Dressed in Blood posts I had planned have fallen to the way side. I’m a little better at the Littens Dressed in Blood side of the challenge, since it’s a simple photo and hashtag. I need to remember this for next year… maybe I just need to slow things down a bit so I don’t over-commit and feel like a failure for not doing all the things.
