I LOVE fall. It has always been my favorite season. I love the crispness in the air, the changing of the leaves, wearing long sleeve shirts and jeans, curling up underneath blankets and watching movies or football. There are many signs of fall, but for me it’s really a feeling. One day I’ll wake up and it will just feel like fall. This year that was 9/2. I woke up that dreary and drizzly Saturday morning and it just felt like fall. The air had that chill and the leaves are changing.
Signs of Fall
The leaves are changing. This is the first sign of fall, this year I had leaves changing and falling in August so it can be a bit misleading, but it’s a sign that fall is definitely around the corner. I love driving around once the leaves change and admiring their beauty.
Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING. If there is a sure fire way to know it’s fall, it’s pumpkin spice. I know not everyone is a fan, but I absolutely love all the pumpkin things. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice latte’s, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin candles, pumpkin scented soap. All the things.
Another sign of fall is the approach of Halloween. For many people this is their Christmas. There is so much that goes in to Halloween, from haunted houses, haunted hay rides, haunt fest and of course, trick or treating.
Hauling out those comfy blankets. I love being curled up on the coach underneath a blanket.
Back to school. As a teacher this is my first sign of fall approaching. As much as I would like to be off all the time, I must return to work. My classroom is all set up and ready to go for the kiddos.
Last, but not least (for me anyway), football has arrived!
*I hope you also have Phil Collins in your head right now. If not, then… I guess I’m old!
