Top Ten Books I Loved The Year I First Started Blogging:
So it turns out that my blogversary is next weekend and I totally didn’t realize it! I started blogging September 16, 2009. My initial goal was to turn this is into a bit of a books/cooking/baking blog… but I only posted about one baking attempt and realized there was a reason I’m not a natural cook (at the time I was only working part time and thought that somehow I would uncover this hidden talent to bake and cook… but I did not uncover any hidden talents other than my ability to nap more).
These are 10 of the best books I read from 9/09 to 12/09, and ones I actually blogged about. I didn’t blog more than twice during November because it was my first time doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I was focused like a laser beam. I still remember all of these books- Catching Fire, The Historian and Graceling in particular are long time favorites and I’ve re-read them as well. Living Dead Girl is from my past habit of camping in Barnes and Noble’s cafe all day and reading an entire book in one sitting, as is Identical. Wow, I forgot how much free time I used to have before I started working on full time and one part time job! Although, now I’m lucky to have one job that usually allows me some reading time and another job working with actual books (and not a soulless big box store, but an actual independent bookstore that most customers exclaim (while walking in or walking past our big windows) looks “just like the bookstore from the Meg Ryan movie!”.
What are your favorite books from your first blog year, or your favorite books from 2009?
