Top Ten Read In First Half of 2017
I’ve read a lot of good books so far this year! I just picked from the what I’ve read without regards to when the books were published. Most are 2017 releases simply because I read a lot of arcs for my job as bookseller. It surprises me, as I look at them, how many deal with serious issues. Coming Up For Air is probably the least issue filled, but despite the romantic hotness of the book, it definitely isn’t just a romance. I read about half of these on audiobook, with You Can’t Touch My Hair and The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue being my favorite narrations. TGGtVaV and All Rights Reserved are two books I’ve read more recently, but they’re both fantastic! The Hate U Give is probably a book I’ve recommended the most this year (really, everyone needs to read it!), but I feel like We Are Okay and Strange the Dreamer haven’t been touted enough- they’re quieter books but quite lovely. A Conjuring of Light was a fantastic end to Schwab’s epic story of magic orphans, pirates and kings. Wolf in White Van and Ketchup Clouds are two of the older titles on my list, but both were amazing books I’m glad I finally got to read. I have lots of great books on the horizon for the rest of 2017 and I can’t wait!
