1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
But more specifically, this morning I’ll be working at Fountain Bookstore because it’s Independent Bookstore Day! And then I have book club tonight. So I’ll mostly be social this Readathon.
We also have a very sick cat at home. This is, sadly, going to be Riley’s very last Readathon with me.
Riley has always been my book posing buddy.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
The Princess Saves Herself In This One by Amanda Lovelace.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Well, I cut out carbs and sugars about 2 months ago, so I don’t snack like I used to. I can have fats though, so I’m making these pepperoni bowl things with mozzarella, a dash of pizza sauce and a wee sliver of olive.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I work part time at Fountain Bookstore in Richmond, VA, which I first discovered because Maggie Stiefvater uses our store as her “home” bookstore and I would go there to pick up her signed books. I’m kind of excited for today because this will be my first Independent Bookstore Day as employee and we’re giving away audiobooks through Libro.fm and we have a few copies of a special edition of Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman that were created for this event (Gaiman is very supportive of bookstores, which is awesome). So if you get a chance, go stretch your legs and visit your local indie bookstore today! Trust me, we need your support!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Well, this is my 16th Readathon, but this may the first time that I don’t read much. But the new thing is that I’ll be posting on Litsy! I’m MidnightBookGirl on there. It’s honestly me favorite place to hang. I love my Littens!
Normally I have a Readathon Pile O’ Books to show, but between Riley and work, I haven’t had anytime. So in lieu of a book photo, I give you this:
If Ryan were here to lend a hand, then he’d be helping me with these books:
The Princess Saves Herself In This One by Amanda Lovelace
The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston (I’m currently re-reading this one, and I’m close to done)
Rejected Princesses by Jason Porath
Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner
Coming Up For Air by Miranda Kenneally (already about half way done with this arc, I love her books!)
