Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
The Kept Woman (Will Trent #8) by Karin Slaughter
This is a series that I have NOT read in order. I know, shocking. My first Will Trent novel was #6- which I got as an audiobook at BEA in 2012. And I really liked it, despite not having read the whole series. It started me on my journey with Karin Slaughter, but I really need to just start at the beginning of her series. Maybe that will be a 2017 goal.
I’m now reading #8 because Libro.fm has it offered as one it’s bookseller selections (they partner with Independent Bookstores too sell audiobooks, which means if you follow the link and purchase a audiobook from them, the bookstore I work at gets some money). I really love the narrator, Kathleen Early, because for me she’s the voice of Slaughter’s characters.
I just started this yesterday, and it’s already super intriguing! More so than the other Will Trent stories I’ve read, this one makes me wish I’d read the earlier ones, but you don’t necessarily have had to to understand what’s going on. If I didn’t have to work all weekend, my ears would be glued, but at least I can listen to the book on my drive.
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
