Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
Before the Fall by Noah Hawley
I’m currently listening to this one and I like it so far. Of course, the plane crash in the beginning did nothing to alleviate my EXTREME FEAR OF FLYING, but I really want to find out what the hell happened. I love that the chapters include the POV of the other people on the plane, in the time leading up to the crash, but it’s also heartbreaking because I know that there are only two survivors (at least I think there’s only 2 survivors… but it’s a thriller, so I expect some more twists and turns).
I’m listening to the book via my Libro.fm app- which I’m loving! For those of you that know me, you know that audiobooks are my thing. I am always listening to something. I’m more into Libro.fm these days simply because it’s new, and they partner with independent bookstores (like the one I work at), which is awesome. So if you’re interested in audiobooks, click here to check it out (and use code FOUNTAINSUMMER to get 20% off your purchase thru 9/30). It’s especially a good alternative for readers who don’t want to pay a monthly fee but also don’t want to pay a buttload of $ on audiobooks.
I really thought I would finish this on vacation this past week (got home yesterday), but I barely read anything at all. I read a lot last year, but I’m guessing that had more to do with the fact that the Hubs couldn’t make it and I spent more time alone. This year it was all about playing Pokemon Go with my nieces and Hubs, and playing Dixit and Dungeons & Dragons (the two eldest nieces spent a full day building their characters). What can I say, we nerd hard in our family.
We also went and saw Suicide Squad while at the beach. The best part of the movie? The recliners in the movie theater. I wish I hadn’t fought the urge to nap during the movie, because it would have been a better use of my time and that sweet, comfortable recliner. Sigh.
But I’m back now, and books will be read! Posts will be written! And I think I’m going to do Book Riot’s Reading Decatholon.
Want to join me? I’m going for Gold, but I’ll settle. I’m not really in a reading slump, but I definitely need to get my reading mojo back.
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
