Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald
This is a book for book lovers! I honestly feel books like this are gifts for bookworms, and Sara is a character that quite a few of us can relate to. I’m currently listening to the audio and I’m literally enchanted- by the books, by the town of Broken Wheel, and by Sara’s pluck. It’s so cozy that even though I still have over 6 hrs left, I’m already dreading the book coming to an end.
Just to give you a little idea of what the book is about- Sara is from Sweden, where until recently she worked at a bookshop (which has now closed). She’s been corresponding by letter to Amy, a fellow bookworm who lives in Broken Wheel, Iowa, a very small, very broke town. Amy invites Sara to visit, and Sara arrives for a 2 month vacation… only to discover Amy has died. The townspeople are determined to make her welcome (in their grudging way) because Amy was beloved. Eventually, in order to stave off boredom and to give something back to the town, Sara opens a bookstore in Amy’s old store. And it’s here that the true magic begins.
Books are great, but they’re even better when we share them. I’m off to sell books today, and I’m finding Sara to be an inspiration!
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
