Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
Sisters’ Fate (the Cahill Witch Chronicles #3) by Jessica Spotswood
I’m almost done with this one, so I expect to finish today… but I’m not feeling great so it just depends on if the meds kick in soon. I like how things are unfolding so far, and I’m hopeful that the ending will be a good one, if not a necessarily “And they lived Happily Ever After” one.
My niece KerrBear is also hanging with me this weekend- yesterday I took her to see Deadpool, made her listen to the Hamilton soundtrack, grocery shopping, a trip to the library and then I left her to watch most of the first season of Community on Hulu while I went to Game Night with my book club squad. Today’s activities will include making her potato soup, taking her to Ulta for the first time and then to Hancock Fabrics, which is sadly going out of business. Assuming I don’t crawl in a hole to nurse my sore and scratchy throat. It could just be allergies… right?
When we visited Libbie Mill Library yesterday, we saw this display in the teen section:
I added Amy Poehler, because Yes Please is the most inspiring book I’ve read in a long time. But the crossing out of “Besty” before writing Sojourner Truth cracks me up a bit. Was it suppose to be Betsy as in Betsy Ross? Or Besty as in Best Friend?
My niece crumbled under the pressure and couldn’t pick someone, and I tried not to scream “Pick ME!” because we were in a library. Teenagers, keeping us humble since forever.
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
