Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
The Witching Hour (Lives of the Mayfair Witches #1) by Anne Rice
I read this book back when I was a young teen. It was my very first Anne Rice novel, and it was at a time when a lot of the books I bought were from the supermarket, and usually bought because of the cover art. Plus, I was way into horror at the time, and this sounded suitably spooky. This has remained my favorite Anne Rice book, although I loathe the sequels. I was excited when Audible finally had an unabridged version of the audiobook – all 50 hours, so I pre-ordered it and decided to wait until this month to re-read it. I’m only about 11 hours in, but I’m at my all time favorite part- the history of the Mayfair Witches as recorded by the Talamasca (which I wish was real so that I could join up… despite my lack of power and research skills). The Witching Hour was a book a read many times in the past, but it’s been a long time since I visited the lovely, crumbling house on First Street. I’m already dreading the end though, since it kind of sets up the ruination of the series, but I’ve got a good imagination, and I’ll go ahead and make up a new ending in my mind. 😉
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
