Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King
There is a bittersweetness to a new King book, bitter because it will soon be over and sweet because it’s a new King book. 🙂 This is a collection of short stories, and it’s King that made me a fan of them. Some aren’t quite new- Mile 81, UR (which previously was available only on Amazon Kindle, the main reason why I broke and bought and ereader when it came out), Blockade Billy and one or two more that I’ve read before, but it’s been awesome rereading these stories because of the huge amount of narrators- with King chiming in between stories to give a little introduction. But he doesn’t read the stories, which is good, because while I love him, I think most of his stories sound better when narrated by others. Every story so far has been captivating (okay, there was a poem I was a little bored with, but they can’t all be 5 star winners), and it’s going to be hard to pick a favorite!
Yesterday I attended the local Festival of the Written Word with my niece, Grace. We wrote for our NaNoWriMo projects, made some crafts and sat in on a few presentations.
And later today. the Hubs and I are going to a birthday party to celebrate the 90th birthday of a dear friend!
Until then, here’s a picture of my adorable puppy, Pages, to inspire you to read (and to snuggle a dog or cat or stuffed animal):
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
