Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton
I love all things ballet, despite having no natural grace and the fact that I ditched ballet lessons after only a few months so that I could go play soccer. I don’t regret choice, because I do NOT have what it takes to be a dancer. But I’m always fascinated by ballerinas and dancers. One of my favorite movies is Center Stage and I could watch Sergei Polunin dance to Take Me To Church every single day for the rest of my life. Actually, I’ll be right back, I’m going to go watch it again.
Seriously, Google his name and watch him dance. It’s amazing. But I’ll link it, because I care about you my little bookworms. You’re welcome.
Back to the book, which is like Center Stage meets Fame meets a huge dollop of Mean Girls. The three main characters, Gigi, June and Bette, are all kinds of screwed up. Gigi’s is due to a medical condition, otherwise she’s really likeable. The other two main characters, not so much. June has her reasons for being the way she is, and she’s not quite in the same league as evil bitch goddess Bette. Still, I get Bette. That girl just needs a Snickers and hug therapy.
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
