Welcome BACK to my Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
I know, I know, I switched to In Bed With a Book meme, but I’m switching back. I’m done trying to make this a blog hop, but still feel free to participate! Maybe someday I’ll try to make it happen as a blog hop again, but right now I feel like Gretchen trying to make ‘fetch’ happen.
This morning I’m reading:
Hysteria by Megan Miranda
I’m enjoying this book so far, and I’m a little sad that I waited so long to read it, because it’s one of those reads that just feels like a Midnight Book Girl read. Sadly, my cover isn’t the one shown above. I have the paperback version of a blurry girl running in the woods (like so many other book covers–seriously, is it a Blair Witch thing? I mean, I get the girls in pretty dresses obsession, but not the blurry girl running through the woods one). I’m a little over 100 pages, and it’s killing me, not knowing everything. I’m being a good girl, though, and not skipping ahead to get my answers. Which is always a temptation with physical books. I think ebooks and audiobooks make it a lot easier to resist the Reading The Last Page Syndrome (as I like to call it).
So, last night I went to book club. We read Karma by Donna Augustine- which we all liked, although we all agreed it could have done with some spell checking and editing. Kim V. hosted, and because it was our Halloween meet up, we decided to have a Harry Potter food theme. Kim V. went all out, and I mean all out. It was fantastic. I’m not much of a baker or chef, but I found these cute spider cookies on Pinterest and decided to name them Aragog’s Children (although I considered naming them Ron’s Nightmare). Below are some pictures. Everything is by Kim V. except my spider cookies and Laura’s Weasley fudge. I’m a little bummed because I didn’t take any pictures of Kim’s amazing Butterbeer! I just got back recently from Harry Potter World, and I can tell you, her recipe tasted pretty damn close to the park’s recipe. It was delicious, but we were too busy guzzling it down to take pictures of it. 😉
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) this morning? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise?
