Welcome to my new blog hop/meme In Bed With a Book! Why limit ourselves to just Sundays anymore? Stop by anytime during the week to share what book is in your bed, and be sure to hop to other blog participant’s sites as well. I’ll post a new link each Sunday, but you can add your post any day of the week.
At this time I would like to feature a new book blogger every week, so if you’re interested, go ahead and email a picture of what book is in your bed this week to be featured next Sunday. Emails can be sent to midnightbookgirl (at) gmail (dot) com.
This morning I’m reading:
I’m actually reading this for book club. We decided to do a Naughty November theme, and this one for some reason has a lot of high ratings. I powered through the end earlier this morning, not because I was so involved in it, but merely to take it off my Currently Reading list on Goodreads. I didn’t like 50 Shades of Gray, but if I was forced to pick between poorly written Twilight fanfic turned into erotica best sellers, I would choose 50 over Gabriel’s Inferno any day of the week. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually preferred the characters in 50 Shades. GI is slightly better written, but I couldn’t have cared less about main characters Gabriel and Julia. And if I rolled my eyes through 50 Shades, than I sprained them during this read. Seriously, it’s horrible. And if you still think you might want to read it because you like erotica, then let me spoil this much for you- Julia keeps her v-card until practically the last page. Not even the historical romances I read as a teen kept the virginal characters pure until the last page. And even if it took half the book, there were lots of steamy encounters. But holy shiz is this book WORDY! And the characters are the whiniest, angsty, most woe is me characters to ever cross my path. And this is coming from someone who read almost all of the Gossip Girl books.
Don’t judge too harshly, it was before I discovered blogging.
So, I will not be recommending this book. Ever. It’s so bad.
But, I am looking forward to discussing it at book club- we always have lively discussions about books we don’t have as much love for.
What are you reading (or wish you had time to read) in bed this week? Are you reading the book you thought you’d be reading, or has today found you with a surprise? Link up below! I’m going to try running this more like a blog hop, so feel free to add the link in your meme posts!
