I’m away from home tonight but I’ll update the meme properly later. I’ve been working a lot of overnights this week (don’t worry, I get to sleep some of the time) which gives me a lot of time to read. I took a great picture of Tumble & Fall for this meme, but I finished it. So here’s what I’m really spending Sunday in bed reading:
Exposed: The Secret Life of Jodi Arias by Jane Velez Mitchell. HLN’s Jane Velez Mitchell, according to the cover. Hell, if HLN will pay me to be loudly opinionated about trials, I’ll change the name in my blog to HLN’S Midnight Book Girl. I can be bought.
A poorly kept secret about yours truly: I like watching trials. If I’d been alive during the Salem Witch trials, assuming of course that I wasn’t one of the accused, I’d have been front row center. Well maybe not that visible, I don’t know if I’d want those Salem girls able to see me and blame me for their menstrual cramps or pimples. The point I’m trying to make is that I like true crime. I don’t read much of it nowadays because the books tend to center on the gory details and less on the investigation and court trials. But I watched the Arias case pretty closely so I’m interested in reading more about it. I kind of doubt HLN’S Jane drudged up anything new but since Arias still hasn’t had her second sentencing trial, I’m need of a true crime fix.
What about you, Midnighters? What book do you have plans to curl up and read this weekend?
