Kate Winters has won immortality.
But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she'll have to fight for it.
Becoming immortal wasn't supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she's as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he's becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate's coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.
As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.
Henry's first wife, Persephone.
What I Thought…
Goddess Interrupted started off slow but got more interesting by the middle of the book. Just like with The Goddess Test I enjoyed the plot and action more than I did the characters. It’s not that I disliked the characters, they are just very one dimensional. They are the original Greek gods (they changed their names after the fall of Greece) and their personalities are exactly what you’d expect them to be (based on what god they are). Except maybe Calliope (who is a bit delusional).
I liked Kate better in this book. She took a stand on what she wanted, standing up for herself and not just fading into the background. However I liked Henry less. There were quite a few times that I wanted to smack him upside the head.
There was a fair amount of action in the second half of the book that kept me interested. The ending was quite the plot twist. had a lot of mixed feelings about this book while I was reading, debating on whether or not I wanted to read the next book. The ending sealed the deal for me. Even though this book is just ok, I will be reading the next one. Talk about a cliff hanger!
