Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed. There is.She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
What I Thought…
I love that the synopsis tells you so little. Learning everything as Mara did made the book so mysterious. There were some things that I figured out on my own but there were quite a few surprises. Especially the ending.
There is a lot going on in this book. First Mara deals with the deaths of her friends, then moving. Then she starts seeing ghosts and occurrences, has to keep convincing her mom that she’s not crazy, deal with the “mean girl” at school, and of course, there’s a boy.
I loved Noah from the beginning and I really hope that in the upcoming book there is no other guy cause I’m not having it. Their relationship was so sweet and I want them to stay together. The romance in this book had a bit of a Twilight feel to me. New girl in town with issues. Boy that every girl wants. The whole “my girl” thing. It worked for me in Twilight, and it worked for me here too.
The one thing that bothered me in this book was Mara’s friend Jamie. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that I was disappointed. Her “perfect” brother was also mildly annoying, but I think that most families have that “perfect” sibling.
After the ending in this book I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
